SpeedStairs was solely founded by inventor, Collis Brown. The idea came to fruition over 10 years ago, while Collis, then teacher, was running up the school steps to get to class. He recognized that he was mimicking perfect running form, but the minute he headed back down the steps, his muscle memory and form were gone, and the eccentric compression of running down stairs was evident in his knees. Because of this, Collis wanted to create something that maximized stair training, and thus was born: SpeedStairs.
While he initially created the apparatus to offer low impact speed training for athletes, Collis quickly realized the vast potential of the product beyond his initial idea. As he gained clients of all ages, he saw benefits including but not limited to: better quality of life, rehabilitation success for both young and old, speed, agility, and power improvement for college and professional athletes, and great success with the special needs population.
